Affiliate Marketing - It is simple but it is sure not easy

Affiliate marketing has transformed into one of the most popular source of earning online. It appears so simple that everyone feels that anyone can rule such a field. However, it is a misconception. Such misconceptions are generated by sales pitch of an affiliate program. It is an area where most people enter easy but they give up briefly without even receiving the first commission. "Affiliate marketing is simple but it is sure not easy".

Why marketers feel affiliate programs are easy?

The basic logic behind affiliate marketing is very clear. The formulation related to its working, process and earning are very simple. Such simplicity has caused most people think of affiliate marketing as a piece of cake. The marketer fails to understand that this simplicity is not linked to its easiness.

Keys to success in affiliate marketing

To be successful at affiliate marketing, only understanding the concept is not enough. Overflow in case of commissions received is not easy. Association with many affiliates cannot do the job. It demands knowing the proficiencies behind the affiliate and the desire to execute them. To earn serious cash, the marketers are required to combine these proficiencies and desire with the simplicity and efficiency of affiliate programs. It is always better to recognize the proficiencies of the affiliate program. This helps in promotion of the product. Simultaneously, it allows knowing the target consumer of the product. The strategy to promote the product to such consumer can then be formulated. The desire in the marketer to promote his affiliate never allows him to get tired of working hard. Hard work always pays off whatever the field may be. In case of affiliate marketing, it is seen in the daily rise in commission earned.

Affiliate marketing is not easy. However, it is not too hard. Affiliate marketing demand proficiencies combined with smart strategies. Such smart action can turn a simple affiliate program into strong earner. Nevertheless, you must always remember that smart work is always better than hard work.

The Lead Creation Station (Want Good Qualified MLM Leads? Part 2)

So, you want to have an endless supply of qualified prospects? Not just qualified real time surveyed mlm leads...but real educated opportunity buyers (not seekers), who will never say: let me think about it, is this a pyramid?, I dont have any money, or I just dont have enough time. Arent you sick of hearing those lies?

I never deal with those annoying brush-off comments anymore. I know what they are like, and I truly feel your pain! I spent my hard-time on the phone for countless hours getting more answering machines than anything else, but not anymore. No one should need to do that anymore. Stop Cold Calling Leads! Its a painful strategy that makes up the 95% club.

I dont need to convince anyone that hearing NO 10, 20, or 200 times a day is hard on the psyche, no wonder the attrition levels in these conventional network marketing businesses is so high!

So what do you do about it? How can you just hear the yeses, and talk to people who are worth your time?

I said in the last article; Want Good Qualified MLM Leads? That you wouldnt like the answer: You need to generate them yourself. Hold On! Dont run off just yet! Its not that hard, and the rewards are enormous. Imagine waking up in the morning and checking your email to find out you just had 2 signups from the other side of the world while you were sleeping, and you have never even said hello. Thats what this will do for you. This happens for me all the time!

Even if you have the most amazing: cancer-curing, gas-saving, guaranteed-money-making, clean-anything, old-age-reversing, miracle box no one will buy from you if they dont know it exists. So, get seen! Lots!

Methods include: Search engines, both Pay-per-click and organic, newspaper ads, magazine ads, article writing, press release, ezines, even TV and radio spots! I recommend a nice blend of these, with an emphasis on search engines and articles.

The first thing you will learn after you advertise; when someone answers your ad it does not mean they are going to buy right there, so you will need to develop a relationship with them. Because most people dont buy the first time they see your ad, statistics show that it takes about 7 times! Like I mentioned earlier you are not going to start a conversation with them on the phone about the weather, you arent even going to need to send out an email. This is all taken care of for you automatically, even if you are out of town.

You will need the next tool in your box called an autoresponder; you can find these all over the internet (just do a Google search). Make sure you actually pay for it though, free versions often will advertise competing ads in your emails, and/or are very limited in what they can do. This will be the most useful weapon in your marketing arsenal, so dont skimp on this. It allows you to literally forget about your prospects until they contact you because they are ready to buy, or you have a special offer to let them in on.

In these emails you are not constantly pitching them on your deal, this will get annoying for anybody, and this is the most common mistake made by internet marketers. You will want to position yourself as an expert, and someone who can help them. Often give tips and tricks for how to make money in a generic way, educate them about your industry, give away free software, even a joke once in a while is worth it. That way they will be more likely to read your ad, when it does come.

Now of course the next one is getting trickier all the time. You will want a way to get your prospects to opt in to your auto responder. Because of spam complaints and new laws etc, you cant just buy an old genealogy list of 50 bazillion leads for $10 and start blasting out emails or you will likely loose your ISP!

Using a lead capture page is the option I like best, you are able to drive your prospects to your site and after they put in their info they are yours until they opt out. Dont just send them to your corporate site or you have lost that lead forever. You have heard it a thousand times before; the money is in your list.

If you know html you can build yourself a good lead capture page yourself. But if you are like me, and learning how to build a website is low on your priority list, you can have one built for you. In fact I recommend having several specific ones that you can target to different audiences.

So in this order you want to:
Get/write a good email campaign
Find a good autoresponder (I use response magic)
Build at least one capture page, or have them built
Drive as much targeted traffic as you can to your site.

Thats it, thats what the top income earners in our industry are doing. That simple 4 step plan that will save you so much time, you will never waste time with a tire-kicker again.

Remember a good plan executed today is WAY better than a perfect plan executed next year. Dont wait for perfection, it will never happen anyway. You will tweak and improve things along the way, this is a given. The most important thing you can do is implement these strategies now.

Embrace Your Automaton

Many people can and have made a few dollars online or in the offline network marketing world. However, many people do not make the really big money. It's not that difficult, it's about applying the two best friends you can ever have, that is the leverage known as duplication and automation.

Anyone who does any form of network marketing knows all about leverage, after all that's what building your downline is all about. Even though they know they need more people there is a tendency among many network marketers to ignore the additional leverage afforded them by duplication. In this instance duplication doesn't just mean teaching your downline then marketing system, but it means keeping track of every effort you make, keeping track of which ones produce results and duplicating those effort as often as possible. This means getting your downline to duplicate these efforts as well.

When attempting to duplicate successful efforts you must first start by meticulously documenting your every effort. You most know which media did you use, phone, text ad, online ad, email ad, flyer or business card. Where did you use it, which newspaper, parking lot, forum or networking event. Who was your target audience old, young, male, female, affluent or not. What day of the week was it. What time was it. What was the weather like, I'm not kidding everything withing reason you can thing of applies here.

Next you need to figure out not just how many positive results you have had, but how much did each result COST you. Getting 100 positive results is not so great if it costs you $2,000 a piece and you know your lifetime payback is only going to be $500. That's not good roi. However if you get 100 positive results and it only cost you $2.50 you should be one happy camper.

After you have done the research and figured out what works for your business you need to automate it. Automation does NOT mean spending 23.5 hours of every day with a computer screen in front of you and a headset jammed in your ear. If you spend that much time doing something it doesn't qualify as automation in our sense. Automation is a form of leverage, it is TIME leverage.

You can get automated and leverage your time by using a PC and PC based programs to machine automate some tasks, by using pre-printed materials, sales copy that is known to work for instance instead of writing your own. You can also get automated by outsourcing to people at reasonable rate of course those things you don't have to do personally. Don't print out 25,000 mailers and lug them to the post office if you can find a print shop or high school student who can do this cheaply for you.

Spend your time doing the things that are most effective at getting positive results for you. In the MLM world this means those things that grow your downline. If you find what works and duplicate, then you automate yourself to free yourself from mundane tasks you will have unleashed some potent leverage. If you duplicate and automated you will have embraced the successful network marketing machine, the leverage automaton.

One last word these concepts like so many others in the marketing world are powerful, but they only work to full effect if you apply them liberally and consistently.

Selling Is Like Buying A Bathing Suit

"It's my least favorite season of the year, bathing-suit season. I don't know why we can't be shaped like all those eighteen year old boys they design those suits for." - Diane Ford

Shopping for a bathing suit is right up there on my Top 10 Ways to Torture Yourself.

Why?

Because finding something that is the "perfect fit" (and you know what I mean here- that somehow the Bathing SuitFairy will magically take 10 pounds off your ass)

But you know what?

It is always worth the effort to find the "perfect bathing suit for you."

Before I went to the Caribbean this spring I spent 2 hours with a sales girl who had a "behind" the size of an apricot.And she did offer expert advice and she reduced most of the pain from the mirrors!

And you know me - as I was twisting, turning, and sweating during the process I thought "I am going to turn this into an article someday!!"

Here's How Bathing Suits Are Like Selling:

* One Size Does NOT Fit All. In selling you need to smarten up. Quit trying to be something for everyone. Who is your target audience or better yet - WHO SHOULD BE your target audience?

* Tight Bathing Suits Are Too Constricting (GASP). That's right - sometimes you need to release clients that don't fit anymore. Perhaps they don't pay enough,or you just aren't getting the "warm fuzzy factor" anymore. Or perhaps they have outgrown you or you have outgrown them. Either way - respectfully release them.

* You Gotta Know Your Strengths Baby! Bathing Suits are all about marketing. Playing up your strengths and not focusing on your weaknesses What are the biggest assets you bring to a client? How you can help them the most and does your marketing reflect this?

* Cheap Bathing Suits Look Cheap. You get what you pay for. Are you not spending money in areas that you REALLY SHOULD be? ie/ creating an e-zine, follow-up with your customers, improving your product or service on a consistent basis. Obviously there are areas you want to save money, however, never should it be at the expense of your reputation or brand.

* Your Bathing Suit From 1994 No Longer Does It. Yes - your fancy schmancy logo from 10 years ago cost you $500 to get designed. (Although let's be honest - someone you KNEW probably designed it for you!) But those days are over girl. Everything needs an overhaul every now and again. Even your business. What part do you need to throw out?

So what was the result ofmy bathing suit experience? I found 2 "smokin" bathing suits and I easily raised the temperature of the Caribbean water by at least10 degrees.

And in regards to my business - I have been doing TONS of traveling, working like crazy on products, carving and reshaping my products and services to all new HIGHS of DIVA-NESS!

Take a good hard look at your business under those HARSH LIGHTS and see what you need to adjust. Remember - you can keep tugging but eventually what doesn't work WILL expose you!
